Dr. Joe Dispenza
“Experience is the best teacher, and the worst experiences teach the best lessons.” Jordan Peterson
I’ve had more than my fair share of “worst experiences” when it comes to chronic health conditions. I know exactly how feels to spend a fortune trying everything possible to heal, only to get worse. I know what it's like to live with the relentless feelings of fear, anxiety, hopelessness, and sadness. I know what it is like to have your loved ones question your sanity. I know what it is like to lose friends because you are always 'too sick' or 'too tired', or because they think you are just plain crazy. I know what it is like to grieve for the person you used to be.
I know what it means to suffer and I know how to come out on the other side; to feel your energy and vitality return, your hope and happiness rise, and fear and sadness fade away.
For over a decade I lived as a sick person. I lived everday desperately trying to heal, terrified of what would happen if I didn't. I was doing all the right things. I ate the perect diet and took the perfect supplements. I spent time in nature and exercised regularly. I meditated and grounded. I went for massage, chiropractic, and acupuncture weekly. I was constantly reading and researching about how to heal, and hyper-focused on anything that could make (or break) my healing. I was doing all of the right things but I wasn't healing.
Why? My story was wrong. I lived everyday trying to heal, and fear was the undercurrent driving my behavior. My story was sending chronic danger signals to my nervous system; There was a threat and it needed to respond. This fear based behavior locked me into a perpetual state of threat physiology - AKA fight or flight. Fight or flight is a very expensive biochemical state, intended as a short term response. When it becomes chronic, it drains your body of the minerals needed to drive your cells, tissues, organs, and systems to function. Trying to heal in a state of threat physiology is like trying to fill a bathtub without plugging the drain. No matter how much water you add, the tub will never be full.
For over a decade my story hijacked my nervous system and depleted my minerals; No strategy (pills, exercise, diet, etc) could change that. Don’t get me wrong, the right strategy is absolutely important, but the first and most powerful thing you can do is choose a story that is congruent with the outcome you desire. This plugs the drain so the bathtub can fill up.

When I learned to reframe the way I approached my health in a way that aligned with the outcome I desired, and how to connect with my body to release the beliefs, both conscious and subconscious, that were hijacking my nervous system, I was able to apply a bio-individual healing strategy and my bathtub began to fill up - very quickly!
Story over Strategy every single time! 🩷
